Let there be LIGHT!

Went to the house today to let family see the progress. We were met with the lovely glow of electricity! All electrical work has basically been completed at this point and plumber was getting ready to start when we left this afternoon. Not much to capture in pictures at this point, but next Friday that wont be the case.
My project manager has lofty goals for the short holiday week. He expects the exterior of the house to be done, including driveway, steps up front and in back and finish the remaining stone work. On top of this, he expects all flooring to be completed and possibly even appliances! We shall see if he can meet this goal or not
As we are getting closer to moving in we have started to really get down to business with packing up the apartment, we have been getting great boxes from PetSmart and Wegmans. We also are pulling the trigger on a washer and dryer. Home Depot has a banging deal on some front loader LG units that we are taking advantage of. I also grabbed a good deal on a nest thermostat from Kohls. Stay tuned for next week because it should get interesting!

Getting stoned...and I love it

What a week! They have banged out a ton of progress around the house. The absolute best part is the stone work! Worth every penny. We do have a few issues with it though. First issue was caught before it will require any additional work, the windows are supposed to stone window sills, they were prepared to install PVC. The. The next issue will take a small amount of rework. Over the first floor window the plans call for stone "feature"
Well, after my initial delight of seeing the stone, closer examination revealed our "feature" fell well short of expectations.
It looks like a bunch of stones stuck the wrong direction, not a designed accent.  We met with our Project manager today and asked what the deal was. He said that the design is limited to the stone they are provided, since they didn't get any of the different sizes this was the best they could do. It was quickly decided between my wife and I that no feature would look better than this attempt at one. Our project manager agreed to remove and match the rest of the wall.
With the exterior addressed it was time to scope out the interior. All the trim has been installed and awaiting finish work and paint, that happens tomorrow. Kitchen is installed and bathroom vanities. Doors are in place, though they installed the laundry room door in wrong spot, easy enough fix.  We getting so close now!

Went by the house this afternoon, no one was around working on it so I decided to slip inside and scope out the progress. Its pretty cool to see the inside and really get a feel for the room sizes. Garage is filled with trim, cabinets, doors and countertops so they are staged to do alot soon. Onto the pictures!
